Kemicentrum\n(http:\/\/www.kc.lu.se\/english\/) comprises three departments (Department of\nChemistry, Department of Food Technology, Engineering and Nutrition, Department\nof Chemical Engineering). With over 1000 people working and studying,\nKemicentrum is one of the largest research centres for research and education\nin chemistry in Scandinavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During our\nstay we mainly visited the Department of Chemistry, Center for Analysis and\nSynthesis (CAS), where our former doctoral student (Monika Motlochov\u00e1)\ncurrently has a PostDoc position. The Centre for Analysis and\nSynthesis (CAS) is working with research questions that are fundamental in\ntheir nature and can contribute to a more sustainable future. Important\nresearch areas are health, smart materials, energy, green chemistry and\nenvironmental chemistry. The Centre for Analysis and Synthesis main research\nareas are within; organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry,\nmaterials chemistry and polymer science and technology. Generally, at the\nUniversity of Lund, they do\/study everything except of carbon and adsorption J <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  At CAS\ninstitute we visited Monika and her supervisor\/boss (Sven Lidin, who is also\nthe Dean of the Faculty of Science). In addition, we met Karin J\u00f6hnsson, the\nleader of the group, which is specialized at wastewater treatment (including\nthe stormwater). With both of them, we tried to discuss and find the area for\ncommon future research\/cooperation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Obviously,\nwe have also tried to arrange the Erasmus agreement between our universities.\nUnfortunately, at this time they do not sign any contracts and rather reduce\nthem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Perhaps the\nbiggest experience for us was visiting the synchrotron MAX IV (https:\/\/www.maxiv.lu.se\/public-media\/how-max-iv-works\/<\/a>), where we were thanks to Monika.\nWe had a private tour, very detailed (about 3 h) and in Czech (guided by Dr.\nZden\u011bk Mat\u011bj). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In our free\ntime we explored the centre of Lund, where is situated the Cathedral from 1103.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
