Characteristics of the field
Students of the Bachelor’s degree program in Chemistry will gain broad theoretical knowledge in all basic areas of chemistry (general, inorganic, organic, analytical, physical chemistry and biochemistry). This theoretical knowledge will be linked with the deepening of practical experience and skills in courses in chemical laboratories, or in the preparation of the bachelor thesis.
Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree program in Chemistry are ready for further study in the follow-up Master’s degree program in chemistry at universities in the Czech Republic and abroad. If the student decides not to continue in the follow-up master’s program, he / she has a good chance to find practical application in chemical laboratories from the sphere of basic and applied research, operational laboratories of health care, pharmacy and food industry. , but also in the field of production, processing, handling, sale and disposal of chemicals in domestic or foreign organizations.
Curriculum Types
Within the Bachelor study program Chemistry we offer 4 types of study plans:
1. Study Plan Completus
It is intended for students who intend to continue in chemically oriented follow-up Master’s study or to go into practice after obtaining a bachelor’s degree. Graduates will receive a full chemical education at the bachelor level.
2. Maior curriculum for education
It is intended for students who intend to continue in the follow-up master’s program of teaching, which includes a set of pedagogical-psychological subjects and teaching practice. This curriculum is always combined with the Minor curriculum of another degree program (eg biology, mathematics, etc.). The student therefore studies two specialties, the bachelor thesis is processed from chemistry. The graduate acquires quality education in two specializations (together with the pedagogical-psychological basis) necessary for further study of teaching.
3. Maior Study Plan
It is intended for students who want to study in two specializations and in one of them continue in the follow-up master’s program. This curriculum is always combined with the Minor curriculum of another degree program (eg biology, mathematics, etc.). The student therefore studies two specialties, the bachelor thesis is processed from chemistry. The graduate acquires quality education in both fields sufficient for further study.
4. Minor Study Plan
This curriculum is only intended to be combined with a Maior curriculum (without or with a focus on education) of another degree program. The student studies two specialties, the bachelor thesis does not process from chemistry, but from the second field. The graduate acquires quality education in both fields sufficient for further study.
Possible combinations of the Maior and Minor study programs are available. y = 18 “> here . Maior-type curricula are always listed first in the pair.
E.g.:
- Chemistry – Biology (with a focus on education) = Chemistry Maior with a focus on education + Biology Minor (bachelor thesis in chemistry).
- Mathematics – Chemistry = Mathematics Maior + Chemistry Minor (bachelor thesis in mathematics).
