On October 10, 2017, the 2nd Thermal Analytical Seminar (TAS) took place at Department of Chemistry.
After the previous year, which took place in 2015 in Pardubice, this year was held in the at our department. The aim of the seminar is to meet of particular students and young scientists and to allow them to present and discuss the results of their thermoanalytic measurements in their native language. The seminar was attended by about 30 students, in the morning and afternoon sections, there were 12 lectures and 7 posters presented. The plenary lecture was presented prof. Martin Palou on Application of thermoanalytical methods to investigate glass transformation and cement hydration.
The Department of Chemistry contributed three lectures to the program:
- Petra Bulavová, Jiří Kučerík: Method for determining micropores volume by using DSC technique
- Eva Kinnertová, Václav Slovák, Petra Bulavová: Monitoring of kinetics of polycondensation of resorcinol and formaldehyde with DSC
- Gabriela Hotová, Václav Slovák, Salomé Soares, José Luís Figueiredo: The use of TG-MS analysis to study the surface of carbonaceous material
The whole event was held in a friendly spirit, so we hope to meet with many again in two years in Pardubice next year!
