On October 6, 2017, from 17:00 to 22:00, the traditional Night of Scientists took place in the building of the Faculty of Science. This year topic was Mobility.

The children from the Ostrava kindergarten Poděbradova and their parents attended on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, an entertaining afternoon full of entertaining chemistry. The Kindergarten in cooperation with Department of Chemistry of Faculty of Science of University of Ostrava prepared a show called “Hokusy, pokusy”.

Petra Bulavová visited prof. Vicente Gómez Serrano at University of Extremadura, Badajoz, Spain, from 12 to 15 September 2017.

From 11 to 15 September 2017, Starý Smokovec in the High Tatras became the place with the largest concentration of chemists in Slovakia. Department of Chemistry of Faculty of Science of University of Ostrava contributed three molecules to the solution of chemists. The Chemical Congress at Grand Hotel Bellevue was attended by Jana Prášilová, Lenka Bláhová and Karolína Křenková.
